ABOUT US

About Us

House of Kind is the brainchild of Sonica Beckmann (our Founder and CEO) and was established with three purposes in mind: to create a sisterhood in the workplace (there’s an old boys club so it’s about time we had a club of our own), to prove that kindness in work is essential; and to offer luxurious workwear options without the eyewatering prices.

At House of Kind, we see kindness as more than a buzz word, it is the core philosophy of our brand. We truly believe that ‘Kindness is our superpower©’, and want nothing more than to share this superpower with you so you too feel empowered in the workplace and beyond and are able to pass the magic on.

At House of Kind, we are kind to ourselves, kind to others and kind on prices without compromising the quality or integrity of the garments we produce.

Who is Sonica Beckmann?

Sonica is an England and Wales qualified solicitor and mother of two, who has worked for some of the biggest retail operators internationally. She was appointed as Head of Legal of a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate at only 31. Despite her early success, her career has not been without challenge. With each promotion she found herself, like many other women, navigating the 'old boys club' with an added pressure to conform to behaviours often thought necessary for those in leadership to succeed.

Rather than conform, Sonica decided she wanted to challenge the status quo. She genuinely believes in leading with kindness and compassion, and thinks that women are unstoppable when they collaborate and support one another. If only there was an easy way for women to seek out like-minded women in business who hold the same kind and supportive values, women who aren’t afraid to wear their heart on their sleeves 💜.

Exiting the corporate world in 2023, Sonica assembled her Dream Team and began work on House of Kind, a pioneering brand aimed at uniting women in the workplace through recognisable details and fashion. It is a legacy she hopes her children (daughter especially), will be proud of.

The Collection

The collection consists of The TrailBLAZER™ our hero product which comes in 9 different styles (entry level to loud and proud having earned your stripes) and are inspired by real life women in business who have touched Sonica’s heart; and layering products (including our EqualiTEE™) as we recognise that not all women wear a blazer to work, but we still want you to be a part of the sisterhood.

Our clothes have all been designed with a feminine shape in mind as we believe femininity to be a core strength for us women in the workplace and should be celebrated. The quality and breathable materials used in our garments not only provide style and a luxurious feel but also comfort and functionality, which is essential for empowering the busy modern working woman.

Our USP- the Details , because we care about the fine print the same way that you do. Our carefully crafted and recognisable details that let you know you’ve found a sister, when you see her wearing our clothes.

The Dream Team

Because no woman is an island (and nor should
she be).

The Details

Our garments, where appropriate, have:

Custom buttons featuring the House of Kind logo-a modern take on the scales of justice. This is a reminder of the need for fairness, justice and equality for all in the workplace.

Bespoke lining, featuring our word mark: “Kindness is our superpower©” and is a core guiding principle of our brand and also a reminder of what the power of kindness can bring.

💜 A small embroidered heart at the back of each right-hand sleeve of The TrailBLAZER™ in our house colour “purple power”, which also happens to be the colour for IWD. A literal reminder that it is ok to wear your heart on your sleeve and show some kindness and empathy in the workplace (a best practice for in life in general).

Swing tags that feature more than just the price. They set out our House Rules - a reminder to embrace diversity, uphold integrity, celebrate success, show empathy, and prioritize mental well-being. We might be kind, but we are not weak!
