We Care 💜
At House of Kind, it is important to us that every aspect of our business is kind and that we have a positive and meaningful impact on both people and the planet. We are committed to ensuring that everyone involved in our brand is treated with dignity and paid a fair wage; and to reducing any waste where possible whilst using kind and sustainable practices. Our commitment to this area will only strengthen as our brand continues to grow.
Our People
The well-being of our employees is a top priority. We provide flexible working hours and time off for childcare and family responsibilities to support a healthy work-life balance. We also encourage our team to engage in hobbies and other extracurricular activities that promote overall well-being. Additionally, we provide access to courses for continuous development, empowering our employees to enhance their skills and grow in their careers. Equally important is our commitment to creating a culture of kindness, inclusivity, and diversity, where respect, empathy, and support are at the core of everything we do. We believe that fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, regardless of their background, helps our employees thrive, do their best work, and contribute to a stronger, more collaborative team.
Our Products
Our approach is centred on thoughtful design, creating durable clothing with high-quality stitching and long-lasting fabrics. We are not fast-fashion. We produce limited quantities, so items may sell out quickly, and offer styles on a "pre-order" basis to gauge interest and prevent over-buying. This means that we use our best efforts to only produce what's necessary, reducing waste. Each design is not only crafted for longevity but also empowers, blending sustainability with style that’s made to last.
Our Suppliers
Having a responsible supply chain and ensuring ethical labour practises is of the utmost importance to us. As such, we have carefully vetted our factories and supply chain to ensure that all are BSCI, GRS and ISO 9001 compliant. We under no circumstances tolerate modern slavery practices or child labour and have intentionally stayed clear of sourcing from any countries that rank high on the global slavery index to further minimise any risk.
Our Sourcing
We are committed to finding ways to improve the sustainability of our products and processes. At present, we use only recycled materials for our packaging. A significant portion of our fabrics are locally sourced from stock markets near our factories, helping to prevent overproduction and lower emissions. Any unused materials are stored for the next production run; and we have partnered with Dress For Success, London where we will be donating our useable samples and faulty returns once such faults have been rectified to ensure that the wearer is empowered in the same way as had the product been new.
Continuous Improvement
We are focused on continuously improving our sustainable and ethical practices, with kindness at the core of our approach. We strive to reduce our environmental impact and make responsible decisions that benefit both people and the planet. As part of this commitment, we are always looking for ways to enhance our processes, minimise waste, and operate with transparency and integrity. Our goal is to make a positive difference to the communities we serve and contribute to a more sustainable and caring future whilst uniting women in a way that hasn’t been seen before.
